I learned the importance of structure and consistency early in my career as an Operations Manager, where I found myself trapped in a cycle of repeating the same tasks over and over again, weighed down by inefficiencies. I realised that much of the work being done had no real impact—it was just motion, not progress. It was then that I recognised the need to break free from the shackles of meaningless, non-value-add work and focus on things that truly drive business success. It was my own Einstein moment—understanding that doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results wasn’t the answer. The solution was operational rigour—creating structured processes that prevent failure before it happens, freeing teams to focus on what truly matters.
